When Camping In Montana, Take An Inflatable Raft
If you’re planning on a camping expedition in Montana then I humbly suggest the inclusion of an inflatable raft. Why? Wherever you go there is bound to be water in the form of rivers, streams or lakes. Those rivers, streams and lakes have to be amongst the best in the world when it comes to scenery, wildlife and vegetation.
Why an inflatable raft? Unless you’re fit enough to carry a solid raft then an inflatable makes a lot of sense. They are easy to inflate and setup and just as easy to deflate and pack away. A two person inflatable raft like that shown on the left comes in at less than 20lbs and has plenty of room for yourself and your camping gear.
If you’re part of group, it makes sense for each person to carry their own inflatable raft. At less than $100 delivered, they are inexpensive yet allow each individual the freedom to explore areas that suit themselves. There is also the added benefit of having room for an extra person should one of the rafts run into trouble.
There are some great camping trails in Montana and many of them follow the course of rivers, or circumnavigate lakes. With plenty of trout just asking to be caught, a water option like an inflatable raft makes plenty of sense. You can even try running some of the white water areas if you’re up to it. Montana – great camping, great hiking, great hunting and great water ways – a perfect combination for a back-to-nature expedition.
